Happy New Year! It was so great to see all the Kindergarteners and to hear about everyone's week with their families. The children had a chance to write and draw about it in their journals today. Ms. Sontag, our reading specialist, joined us during this time and reminded the children about the importance of planning for their writing. She demonstrated how to make lines for their words as they plan their writing and to think about when to use a capital letter and when to use lower case letters.
During math we started new math stations. Some children worked with Ms. Dennehy as they weighed and compared the weights of different objects compared to a feather, a bottle of purell, and an apple. Others worked with me on number comparison sentences. This was a busy time for the class, but filled with hard work and many "aha" moments.
