We finished our Literacy Centers today which we started a couple of weeks ago! The Kindergarteners enjoyed learning step-by-step how to draw a person with Ms. Dennehy, while others worked with me to write their color words by using tools in the classroom. During this time, another small group was sorting words that start with "S" and "M" while others were reading the room for words and letters.

We also continued our math stations today. The Kindergarteners are becoming more and more indpendent and confident of their abilities to count accurately and to count on. Tomorrow we will learn a "spinner game" where children will work in pairs to move places on a playing board according to their spin.

We also did some yoga today with site "Zen Den". Children were asked to concentrate and listen while taking calm breaths. We find this to be a very helpful tool to calm down our bodies and to get ready for the rest of our day.

During learning centers, children enjoyed learning how to play the game "Set" which Matthew brought in! Others listened to Harry and the Purple Crayon  while others used oil pastels and water colors to make spider webs. It was a very busy day today! :-)
