Today we discussed annoying behavior during Open Circle. We practiced using the language of "I don't like it when you _______. Please stop.". We also discussed the importance of using a person's name when talking to them so it is clear that you are talking to them when asking them to stop specific behavior. We did some role played to reinforce this difficult concept.
With Ms. Kaplan, the children practiced proper pencil grip and copies step by step to make a caterpillar, snake, and a snail. These will be coming home with your children very soon :-)
Fundations was great today! I showed the Kindergartners how to tap and blend sounds together for simple CVC (Consonant Vowel Consonant) words. For example, tapped out words such as "fib", "but", and "nut" .We used magnet boards to also reinforce this concept.
We ended our day with math. I worked with a group of children as we explored number shapes and created different number combinations. Others played Ten Frame Memory with Ms. Richlen.
