During our morning meeting, we found a match! The Kindergartners were asked to either match their array of dots or their numeral with a partner. With their partner they were then asked to tell a story using their number. This activity served as a way to help the children interact with new children, as well as review numbers. During math today, we talked about counting a scattered array. I showed the children 8 objects and we discussed how to accurately count a scattered group of teddy bears. They then had a chance to try this on their own. We will send home their recodring sheets for you to see in the next few days!
During Writer's Workshop today , we brainstormed together about things we like about fall. The Kindergarteners then spent thirty minutes (wow!! that was a long time to show endurance for this task!) writing and drawing 4 things that they like about fall. We will be displaying this work in our classroom for all to see!
