After a successful ALICE drill ,we had a fabulous day today! During a quick Open Circle, we talked briefly about "tone of voice" and the way we convey different messages based on the way that we speak.
We started new Literacy Stations today. Children were very excited to "Read The Room" and to also read their poetry at Independent Reading. I worked with children at guided reading, continuing to work on "Eagle Eye" and "Lips the Fish" to help decode words that children don't know in the text.
During math, we made "greater than" and "less than" alligators, after learning this symbol during math. We watched a video which reminded us that the alligator chomps the bigger number. We will continue this activity tomorrow morning.
