Today we discussed the importance of speaking up and speaking clearly during Open Circle. Each child had the chance to use a microphone and to say "My Name is _______" in a clear, speak up voice. We will continue to encourage this type of voice whenever the children in the class speak. :-)
During Fundations, we practiced segmenting sounds and we also played "Snowman In The Box" as the Kindergarteners tried to guess my sentence! This game is an on -going point system between the students and the teachers- right now, the score is 4 to 3- students!
During math, the class had fun working in pairs to measure each other's feet. First they traced their shoes, then cut out the foot, then measured it with unfix cubes. We will use these feet to find objects in the classroom that are longer and shorter than our own feet
