It was so wonderful to see all the Kindergarteners today! Arrival time was a choice time for all, which allowed time for the children to settle back in and catch up with each other :-)
During Morning Meeting we shared what we did over the past week and a half with the activity "Me Too!". Then, the Kindergarteners worked diligently in their journals writing and drawing their thoughts. Wow ! They have come so far and are doing a terrific job in their journals:-)
For Open Circle, we reviewed our classroom rules and I reminded the children that by following these rules we can have fun, be safe and learn. The New Year seemed like a perfect time to do this...
We ended our day (and will start tomorrow..) by measuring our shoes. Then, the children were challenged to compare the measurement of their shoe with other children in the class. This activity combined our unit of non-standard measurement with comparing.
