After a very engaging school meeting where the Kindergarteners learned about expected behavior during the snow days of recess, we were treated to a Mystery Reader! Makenna's mom, Gail, joined us and read Llama Llama Misses Her Mama. Thank you for joining us this moring!
During phonics, we turned over the letter G- Gulping Gopher and brainstormed words that begin with "G". We also learned 2 new sight words -DO and WE. The Kindegarteners enjoyed reading the book In Winter to practice these sight words. Many are chosing to bring it home to read to you! Please continue to encourage your child to point to the words as he/she reads and to use the pictures to figure out any unknown words.
We ended our day by measuring each others shoes! As we have emphasized all week, the children used unifix cubes to determine how long their friends' shoes were. We then discussed who had shoes that were longer and who had shoes that were shorter.
