Maybe we should have pajama and crazy hair day everyday....
The KIndergarteners had such a great day today! They came in to school, excited yet settled down pretty quickly to work on their Matching Mitten project. We also introduced the poem "The Chubby Little Snowman" and reviewed all the sight words that are in the poem. We then sang the poem together and reviewed and sang 3 other songs in their Poetry folders.
We had RTI today where the Kindergarteners went with their RTI teacher and worked on phonemic awareness- some groups are working on beginning sounds, some are working on ending sounds and others are working on guided reading. The children came back excited about this special time.
During math we introduced the poems for 6 and 7 and the Kindergarteners had time to practice. Ask your child if he/she remembers the rhyme (there's a picture of it below...)
The class was very excited to learn about the penguins and the lives of people in Antarctica and were very focused on our movie. We then ended our day with Abby's mom, Bethany, being our Mystery Reader. Tomorrow we are looking forward to seeing a middle school strings performance.
