Today was a very busy day in Room 1! After a fabulous School Meeting (where it was announced that on December 23rd the teachers and students will be participating in "topsy turvey" day where Mr. Moynihan will be Room 1's teacher for 1 hour during that day--- this is a reward for the school earning 100 PRIDE tickets), Nishanth's sister, Annika, came and read to us as our STAR Reader.
We finished our Literacy Centers where all children have now all been introduced to the strategy of "Skippity the Frog". Next week, we will continue with our guided reading groups and introduce an activiy called "Read, Write, Stamp".
We ended our day with reading the book Papa, Please Get The Moon For Me, by Eric Carle and started a new art actiivty. The children are working in pairs to create a painting connected to this book. We are looking forward to having these displayed in our classroom soon!
