Today we defined what the word "problem" means during Open Circle. We defined a problem as something which can make us feel confused or upset. As a class, we brainstormed problems in our class. We will use this list during our next Open Circle to solve problems- we will introduce a traffic light to help us as a strategy.
During Literacy Stations, we continued the games and the sorts that we started before vacation. Children wrote sentences to go along with the words that were created with their sort. The Kindergarteners really enjoyed the vowel game that they played with Ms. Dennehy, focusing and understanding that all words have a vowel.
The class was very excited to start learning how to write capital letters today! We started with "A". As a class, we emphasized that capital letters are only used at the beginning of a sentence and at the beginning of a person's name. We will continue to reinforce this concept all year long!
The Kindergarteners loved playing out in the snow today- thank you to all for sending in all the snow gear that was necessary for recess fun!
