What a busy day we had today! We started our morning with a very intense yet fun "Rock, Paper, Scissor" tournament during Morning Meeting. Our "tournament" reinforced good sportsmanship, following the group plan, and having some fun! Vivian was our champion today-- we will certainly play again!
We had Reading Shuffle for the first time today. The children were shuffled, like they are for Math Shuffle, among the Kindergarten team, and are having the opportunity for enrichment (through reading in a small group and writing what they learned), working on specific letters and/or vowels, or focusing on skills which need to be reviewed. We will have Reading Shuffle on Mondays and Wednesdays and the groups will be fluid based on our assessment of our students.
During math, we thought about tomatoes and carrots. We created plates that had part tomatoes, part carrots and figured how many we had as a whole. The class had a lot of fun cutting, glueing and describing their plates.
