We started our day by making number bonds related to the number "7".  The Kindergartners used a stick of 7 cubes to create 2 parts.  Thinking about "part, part, whole" will help with addition and subtraction equations.

During Writer's Workshop today we watched a video/song by Jack Hartmann about using capital letters. I explained the importance of editing one's work.  Children are starting to finish their stories and share them with the class.  We will continue writing stories through the end of the month and will then change our focus to letter writing and list making.

Ms. Pirelli joined us at the end of the day and read the book Decibella and Her Six Inch Voice. We talked about voice volume and when each time of voice is appropriate and expected.
