We reviewed our trick words during morning meeting by having the children find their matching partner, greet, and then create a sentence. The words that were most tricky were as and has. We also reinforced these words during Writer's Workshop today.
During Writer's Workshop, the Kindergarteners were so excited to work on their stories! Many are on to their second story and I think they are truly noticing how much their skills are improving. Their ability to work indepenently has grown so much- I look forward to sharing their work with you at conferences.
During math, we read The Shape of Things. From this book, we looked at the way a shape can turn into something new (a rhombus into a kite, a rectangle into a train). The children then chose a shape and changed it into something new. We look forward to displaying this work in our classroom!
