After school meeting today, Eli's dad joined as our Star Reader. He read one of our favorite books The Cat In The Hat. Thank you for spending part of your day with us! :-)
We had Reader's Workshop today where I introduced the strategy of "Skippity the Frog" which reminds us to skip a word we don't know and then come back to it to figure out what makes sense within the context of the book we are reading. The Kindergarteners were excited to then have a chance to use this strategy in their "just right books".
After lunch, we took a break from our focus on shapes and created number stories using animal stickers and made barns to go along with our stories. The children enjoyed this so much! Ask your child about his/her number story.
