Our day started with our morning message question of "the answer is 2. Write an equation to show this answer". This challenge created many conversations, including those about "part, part, whole".
Ms. Sontag, our reading specialist, joined our class during phonics this morning in introduce the concept of syllable trains. Within each train, there is a person which represents the sounds of each syllable. The Kindergarteners were then asked to listen to different words and distinguish the number of syllables and then indiviudual sounds within those syllables. This is hard work , and the children did a fabulous job!
We spent math outside today to enjoy the beautiful weather! With a clipboard in hand, we looked for shapes in our environment! We noticed that the basketball hoops is a circle, parts of the structure is a square and so much more. Ask your child what he/she noticed!
