Today the Kindergarteners started their day with a sight word activity. We used the word "I" as an easy way to understand this activity..They were asked to trace, cut and glue this word and then to write a sentence on the back of their paper. We will continue this review of trick words as a way to start our morning.
During Open Circle, the Kindergarteners had a chance to play charades. Children had the chance to act out a safe, inclusive, and fun recess activity and their friends had to guess what they were doing. This was a good way to review and reinforce the recess discussion that we had yesterday.
During Fundations, we introduced 3 new trick words- she, he and we. Children came up to the board and created sentences using the sentence frames which reminds us to use a capital letter at the begininning and to end with a period.
We made math flowers at the end of the day! Each child was assigned a teen number. Then, they were asked to represent their number with a ten frame, an addition sentence, a subtraction sentence, tally marks and a picture. We look forward to taking down our snowmen and replacing them with these beautiful flowers!
