The Kindergarteners enjoyed decorating their envelopes for their Wellesley pen pals. They have been delivered!
We also spent time during Fundations distinguishing between "b" and "d" which continues to be tricky - both for reading and writing- for many Kindergarteners. We completed a dictation and talked about "scooping" phrases as we read, as to not sound like robot as we read.
During Reader's Workshop, I introduced the concept of the linger finger. The focus was to use our finger to linger on the words as we read to increase accuracy and understanding of the text.
