We had 2 special guests visit our classroom today! Mr. Jones joined us to answer the questions we had asked before he went to China. Mr. Jones shared that he climbed the Great Wall of China (taking about 3 hours), and he told us a lot about the different types of food in China. He also shared his experience as he visited a school in China. The Kindergarteners were very interested in what he had to say!
Annabel's dad, Chris, also joined us at our Star Reader and had the class helped him read the wordless version of the story TheLion and The Mouse. This story tied is very well to our unit on fairy tales as we talked about the lesson we can learn from this famous tale.
During Writer's Workshop, we continued talking about how we can keep the earth clean as we finished the book Recyle. The Kindergarteners created a "small earth" with paint and then responded to a writing prompt. These will be displayed in our classroom- come and check them out!
We ended the day with a "Write Around The Room" during math. Each child rotated around the room and wrote the next 3 sequential numbers on the piece of paper in front of them. This was a great review of number writing and of sequencing of numbers in order.
