We started our morning by attending School Meeting. We were treated to the singing of "Fifty Nifty United States" by the Fourth Graders. The class was riveted by the singing, as well as the posters that were displayed during this time. We also saw a skit by Team Pride about respect for teachers and sang the Loker School Song.
P.E. was a bit different today. Instead of Mr. O'Connor teaching the class, Mr. Jones was the teacher! This "switcharoo" was a student council idea to celebrate the 1000 PRIDE tickets earned by Loker School!
We also introduced 3 new sight words today- all, as, and be. During Writer's Workshop, the Kindergartners were challenged to try and use at least one of these words in their writing! Some children continued to work on their stories and many others are beginning their list writing.
We ended the day with Charlie's mom joining us for Star Reader. She read the books A Visitor For Bear and This is The Way We Eat Our Lunch - it was a great way to end our day:-)
