This morning we continued to talk about "fitting in" during Open Circle. The Kindergarteners shared that they are finding more children to play with and finding more that they have in common with their classmates.
During Readers Workshop, the children had time to find a treasure in a book. They each found a "perfect place to read" and read independently for about 10 minutes At the end of this time, some shared a character that they noticed on each page, some shared trick words they could read, and others shared a sentence they could read.
The Kindergarteners had a blast at math today! After reading Tally O'Malley, the Kindergarteners began tallying things in our classroom, such as chairs, windows and tables. They will continue this activity tomorrow morning!
