We started our morning with Adajah's mom joining us as Star Reader. Elmide read the fable The Tortoise and The Hare which reminded us about good sportsmanship.
During Writer's Workshop today, we continued working from our Writer's Workshop folders. I worked with a small group to introduce "How To Books" and to help children plan and start their new writing. We had time to share at the end and students enjoyed giving compliments and asking questions of their friends.
During math, we made number flowers. Students were assigned a number and were then asked to represent their number in many different ways- with an equation, with a picture, and with a tally mark. These math flowers will be displayed in our classroom soon.
