The Kindergarteners were so excited to write their own "How-To" stories today! The classroom was so quiet as the children looked at the pictures of either making cookies or brushing teeth and wrote the 3 steps for doing such tasks. Next time, they continue using picture prompts or create their own how-to directions.
During Open Circle, we continued to discuss what you can't tell about someone just by looking at them. This includes feelings as well as interesting facts about a person. We went around the circle and shared one thing about each person you wouldn't know unless you watched, observed, and spoke to that classmate.
During Fundations, the children completed a dictation. I said a sentence and they wrote the words on their white board. This is a skill we are practicing and it serves as a review of correct formation of letters, review of trick words, and sentence structure.
We ended our day with painting our special paper-mache projects! If your child comes home with any paint on his/her clothes, they are washable.
