Happy First Day of June! We spent a lot of time during morning meeting going over all the special events in June- from Field Day to Field Trips, there is a lot going on!
The Kindergarteners did a fabulous job at School Meeting this morning. They sang beautifully and looked very confident in front of the whole school. You can see their performance by going to the "School Meetings" link on the Loker website.
During Reader's Workshop, the KIndergarteners have each been assigned to a reader's theatre play- the three plays that we are reading in class are Stone Soup, The Brennan Town Musicians, and The Hare and The Tortoise. The children are very excited to learn their parts. The goal with our Reader's Theater plays is to enhance fluency while reading and to help the children work together to create a simple play. We will plan to perform these plays in front of the other Kindergarten as a casual way to perform and show what we have learned!
Ms. Lepow joined us for math today as we learned about tricky teen numbers. The children worked in pairs to group objects into a group of ten and then to compare the two groups. Ask your child to count a group of 15 objects and then to arrange them in a group of ten and ones.
