Wow!It was another whirlwind day today! We started the day by seeing a fabulous accappella band called "Ball In The House". The five singers talked about the way they perform accappella and the different sounds they are able to make by just using their voices! The Kindergarteners were smiling and dancing the whole performance time! After this performance (and a quick snack) we saw the Loker Band and Strings perform. Again, the children in our class were such a great audience and were able to learn the names of all the instruments used during this time and to hear many different songs being played.
At a well-deserved recess, we saw the famous Loker turtle! She comes every spring and lays her eggs in the sandbox right next to our back door. She was quite fascinating to watch and we were able to have a great lesson about turtles and the fragility of turtle eggs.
We ended our day by drawing our June self-portrait. We look forward to compiling all the fabulous portraits into a booklet for you for our Open House next week.
