We had such fun on our apple picking field trip today! As soon as we got to Honey Pot Hill Orchards, we got on a tractor ride which took us to our picking area. The children were taught how to properly pick an apple (twist and pull) and were led to a row of delicious Gala apples. After picking and then eating a few apples, we went back on the hayride. The Kindergarteners then had time to eat their snack, look at the animals (goats, chickens, and ponies) and then pick a pumpkin. We hope everything made it home safely and minimally bruised!
When we came back to school, we did a shared writing experience where the children shared about their experience today and I wrote for them. We will add photographs to this writing, and keep it in the classroom as a memory of our trip. Thank you to Tanner's mom, Amy, and Anthony's mom, Angela, who joined us today. Your help was really appreciated:-)
