We started our morning with an agenda-packed School Meeting. We watched a skit by the 5th Grade PRIDE team that demonstrated the way to have a respectful disagreement/debate as we are in the midst of this election period. Mr. Jones spoke about the importance of listening and that, while it's okay to disagree, we need to be respectful to others and their thoughts and opinions. There was also a presentation from Jason Verhoosky, the Wayland Cares Direction on good decision making and staying "above the influence".
After School Meeting, Wyatt's father and brother read The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog as our Star Readers. Thank you for joining our classroom (and I apologize that I didn't take a picture of you.. :-( )
We continued our Literacy Centers that we started yesterday, and the Kindergarteners will be bringing home their Name Pages and sorting sheets. We will have new Literacy Centers next week!
We ended our day by doing a birthday graph. After cutting the ribbon on our crayons (and demonstrating how to use crayons in the correct way), the children colored in a birthday cake representing how old they are by coloring in the correct amount of birthday candles. Tomorrow morning, we will ask them to put their cakes on their birthday months and we will work together to interpret the graph.
